Oh hey, Bloomberg’s proposed ban of super-sized soda isn’t really all that random. The research completely backs it: Soda serving sizes have had the largest increase of restaurant portions.

just because there’s more of it doesn’t mean you can ban it though.

People will just buy a second drink. NYC is full of places to eat and drink 24 hours a day. Now we have mobile Waffle trucks. It’s a nice idea from Bloomberg but it wont work.

If the government was serious about making American citizens healthier they would better educate their citizens about what they’re putting into their bodies. That would include making nutrition a priority in school. If you go to the average middle or high school in America they have fucking soda machines on campus. Let’s not get started on what they serve the kids to eat. 

It would also mean they’d have to stop subsidizing corn and giving companies incentive to pump high fructose corn syrup into everything we eat and drink. 

It’s cheaper to eat unhealthy food than it is to buy food that’s good for you. Why can you get a can of soda for 75 cents but a bottle of Odwalla costs $4 fucking dollars? That’s the real problem. 

People aren’t going to magically get skinny because they can’t buy 32oz sodas anymore or because Snickers breaks the King Size bars into two pieces. It’s the height of absurdity.
